Melissa Russell is certified as a yoga therapist by the International Association of Yoga Therapists and as an iRest meditation teacher by the Integrative Restoration Institute.
She uses movement, breath, meditation, and lifestyle modifications to help people find better health and well-being physically, mentally, and spiritually. It is her personal and professional philosophy that we have the power to evolve throughout our lives. We are not stuck being overwhelmed, stressed, or in mental or physical discomfort.
For the past four years, Melissa has been working with individuals in her private practice to address a number of conditions: chronic pain (structural, muscular, and fibromyalgia); autoimmune (multiple sclerosis, IBS, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus); anxiety, depression, insomnia, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, pelvic floor issues (pain, incontinence, constipation).
Yoga therapy and meditation are by no means a cure for any of these conditions. They are a means to enhance your well-being as an adjunct to professional care. Melissa has proven success in changing people’s lives. As one recent client said after working with Melissa, “I have not felt so whole and pain-free in a long time.”
Melissa also supports organizations that are working to reduce stress and increase wellness among employees. Supported by a number of studies that support their efficacy, her classes include chair, desk, and mat yoga, breathwork as well as meditation. Melissa has been lauded for her service, her “students report decreases in anxiety, pain, and an increase in vitality and clarity” as a result of her classes.
